Peterbuilt Pick-up Trucks
[ad_1]
Every truck driver running up and down the interstates all across America, have at least one time thought how fun it would be to have a personal pick-up truck that looked like a semi-truck. Of course, most truck drivers spend 90% of their time driving and don’t have the time, much less the disposable cash it would take to build one of these rigs. However, thanks to some retired drivers, they are making the dreams a reality after their retiring from driving over the road.
The key is to decide what brand of big rig you would like your truck to be…
Peterbuilt, Freightliner, Mac, etc. Peterbuilt’s are the most infamous trucks on the highway therefore they are the most popular for these “little big trucks.”
The first step for these builders is to find the cab of the brand they are building, stripping it down, cutting the hood, fabricating body parts and bringing the big rig down to size.
Most like to install air ride suspension, spruce up the dash boards with gauges, add chrome and stainless steel parts, all of which are functional and work just like the big rig did when it was full grown.
Finding a pick-up truck bed is also a challenge. Body lines, fenders, etc., need to match up with the front end of the truck.
The engine size is of course up to the builder or the buyer as is the other working components under the hoods of these small beasts. These trucks are built to the buyers specs and are truly unique, each one of themselves.
There are just a handful of skilled builders of these mighty little giants. A gentleman from Washington state began his career as a builder about 25 years ago at the age of about 50+. He built three trucks a year and had standing orders for
twenty. Building only three a year, he wasn’t sure he would live long enough to fill all of the orders he had accrued.
There is fellow down in Alabama that built one for himself, a Freightliner model. While it was parked in his drive way, someone stopped to admire it and ask if it were for sale. The owner tossed out what he thought was an outrageous price and sold it on the spot. He built a Peterbuilt model to fill the empty space in his driveway. It took him three and a half years to complete and when he was offered seventy thousand dollars for it, he passed on the offer.
In Missouri, the heart of the Midwest, there is a man who builds these amazing vehicles for others to love and enjoy. Built to your specifications, with a down payment in the neighborhood of about fifteen thousand dollars, he will start your project. Final costs range from about forty five thousand on up to over seventy-five thousand or more. You can have your little big truck parked in your driveway in approximately three months. The craftsmanship, quality and attention to detail is obvious in his final product.
If you are a big rig fan, a truck driver currently running the highways and byways or retired and would like to know more about these amazing and fun trucks then I recommend checking into the authors box for the web address to show you some examples and gather more information.
