Tires For Hybrid Car – What Are the Best Tires For Hybrid Car

[ad_1]

It is equally important to focus on the tires for hybrid car as it is to focus on the engine and other features. Hybrid vehicles are sent from the manufacturer with tires that perform accordingly in various conditions. The tires are also designed to contribute to fuel efficiency and minimized road resistance.

Tires for these types of cars are generally low-rolling resistance tires. Every time the tires of your car needs to be replaced, always use tires that are specifically made for hybrid vehicles. It’s not only the engine of your hybrid automotive that saves you money on fuel, but also the low-rolling resistance tires.

Low-rolling resistance tires roll easily on the surface, reducing drag and resistance. This minimizes the power needed to move the car. This ultimately means a cleaner running car and better fuel economy. When buying low-rolling resistance tires, see to it that they are made out of a composite of rubber particles, which create more energy efficient, stiff low-rolling tires. Also check for the tread. Instead of the high PST’s in conventional tires, hybrid car tires utilize less air pressure.

There are many advantages to buying tires for hybrid car. However, not all of these tires are made the same way. Some drivers don’t feel that the tires grip the surface well. So when deciding which tires are best for your hybrid vehicle, consider what type of driver you are. Aggressive drivers tend to opt for traditional tires, which are softer and grip more unto the ground. To help you decide on the tires for your hybrid vehicle, just consider these few factors: personal driving comfort, grip, fuel economy, speed and pollution control.

Cat Backhoes For Sale

[ad_1]

The gigantic, lumbering back hoes aren’t always a good choice, especially for the smaller contractor and aren’t a choice at all for the home owner who needs to lease a machine for the weekend. For them, there are mini backhoes or the small back hoes. If you’re going down to the local heavy hardware rental store, you are probably going to see a couple of the different compact back hoes there, typically the most popular brands like John Deere and the Kubota back hoe. There are others, including the Ford back hoe, the Case back hoe and the JCB back hoe too although there might not be a massive selection of brand names in most rental places.

For those home contractors or weekend warriors who don’t know : a backhoe has that name as it trowels dirt backwards rather than pushing it forward like other types of machinery. The 1st models were developed in the UK in the 1950’s and were quickly changed and modified for a number of uses. They are all essentially built in the same demeanour, with a digging bucket at the end of an expounded arm. In addition to the digging bucket, there are more attachments that may be used with the back hoe.

If you are renting a backhoe for a home project of most sizes, you’ll be looking at a mini, a small or compact backhoe rather than the larger, more complex models intended to be handled by the very skilled pro. Of course , it’d be less expensive to hire a contractor to come in and do the digging for your project than it’d be to repair and replace all of the things that you tear up, knock down or bowl over trying to find out how to handle the back hoe that you have just leased.

In the final analysis, whether you have leased a John Deere or Case backhoe, or any other, you still have to know how to use it and use it in the right way. Make the effort to learn in the lot before you even put your money down. There is no sense in paying for something you cannot handle once it gets to your lot. What might take you all weekend to do, may only take the contractor an hour making the professional the less expensive option. If you’re looking at hiring a contractor for three hundred bucks an hour, or the same price for all day with the back hoe, you are not saving any money by renting , particularly if you end up paying for delivery, additional charges for a 2nd day or end up having to pay the contractor to come in and finish what you have started once you understand that you don’t know what you are doing.

Cat Food – the Best, the Healthiest, the Most Nutritious

[ad_1]

We humans have a capacity of extremes. There are those of us who are honest to the letter and there are those of us who are equally dishonest. Stress often plays an important part of being dishonest, especially for a struggling businessman desperately trying to provide for his family.

Then there are those who are just plain greedy and don’t care how they arrive at their fortune as long as they do.

Luckily, in most countries, there is now a system in place that ensures a basic (some might say very basic) standard that all manufacturers or suppliers of human food must meet.

Sadly this is either not the case for animal feed, or the standards are so low as to be useless.

So despite all the pretty advertising, all the logically convincing and reassuring words from your vet, chances are, if you’re feeding your cat a processed cat food, you’re directly contributing to her ill health.

The big brand names in cat food contribute financially to veterinary colleges, which explains why vets surgery reception areas are now piled high with these brands. But does it spell quality?

To find out we need to look at what’s in processed cat food. Most fresh meat goes for human consumption as more money can be made there. So pet food tends to get the dregs. Dregs can include meat meal or meat by-products (chicken feet, feathers, hair, skin, intestinal waste (poo to you and me), general slaughterhouse wastes), meat not considered safe (spoiled or toxic) or desirable for human consumption, fat, diseased carcasses (which may be far from fresh), including euthanised animals.

To bulk this out, low cost carbohydrates are used, which can include sugar, propylene glycol, leftover fast food, mouldy and rancid grain deemed unsuitable for human consumption, corn syrup, non-nutritive fillers such as sawdust or newspaper and so forth.

So the cat food starts out as low quality, too low in digestible protein essential to a cats well being, too high in fat, too high in carbohydrates and possibly poisonous – 100 Bald and Golden Eagles in North America have died recently from eating a euthanised animal.

Then the ‘food’ is cooked, usually at very high temperatures. Cooking destroys many nutrients which are essential for good health. Cats evolved by killing and eating their food instantly, showing that freshness is essential for a cats overall good health.

To address this, the cat food manufacturers add synthetic nutrients. Synthetic nutrients are isolated and not easily digested by anyone let alone your cat. So a label reassuringly boasting of a ‘nutritionally complete’ or ‘scientific’ diet are purposefully vague as neither are true. Unqualified claims are legally acceptable in most countries with their poor or non-existent pet food regulations.

As this resultant cat food doesn’t look very appealing, colour is added (Red 40, Yellow 6, Yellow 5, Blue 2), obviously for your benefit as I doubt your cat cares much about the colour of cat food.

Now, most processed food is in a dry or semi dry form. This means that you have to preserve the food to keep it. If you purchase any meat product that keeps longer than a couple of days in the fridge, you know it has preservative in.

Some common preservatives include disodium guanylate, butylated hydroxyanisole (BHA), menadione sodium bisulfite complex (a very controversial synthetic vitamin K.), mixed-tocopherols (synthetic form of Vitamin E) and others considered unfit for human consumption.

All processed food is ‘dead’ food, with no life. Dead food is that which has been cooked, particularly at high temperature and for long periods.

So you might think that buying cat food direct from a pet food supplier or butcher might be the answer. A quality butcher I buy from once told me that most pet mince sold at butchers is all the excess fat they can’t use, mixed with beetroot juice. On further inspection of the pet mince in discussion, I didn’t doubt him.

I read recently of someone buying from a pet shop. As she walked up to the shop from the car park, she noticed a pickup truck loaded down with large boxes marked poultry. On closer inspection she saw they contained pre-packaged chicken pieces. Fresh chicken sitting in boxes, in the hot summer sun, not on ice, not in a refrigerated truck, but in the back of an open pick up truck waiting to be carried into the store for sale to consumers.

Bigfoot Monster Truck

[ad_1]

BIGFOOT® all began in the mid 1970’s. Bob Chandler, the creator of BIGFOOT® with his wife, was a construction contractor working in St. Louis, USA. Bob used his Ford 250 4X4 Pickup Truck for both work and also off road family fun at the weekends. After breaking the toughest of trucks it soon became apparent that there was nowhere close by for him to get 4X4 parts and spares. Seeing the gap in the market, Bob and his wife Marilyn started up Midwest Four Wheel Drive. The Chandler’s used their truck as a work vehicle, as well as using it for promotional purposes. They tried out new parts on the truck, and kept on making it bigger and better. It escalated so much that the truck actually became an attraction in its own right. In 1979, at the Denver car show, the Chandler’s used their truck in its first paid event. Truck pulls in arenas and stadiums were soon to follow.

Two years later in 1981 Bob changed the whole concept of Monster Trucks. Just for fun he thought he would try and drive over a couple of scrap cars. He soon duplicated his stunt in a stadium show a couple of months later. That was the birth of car crushing Monster Trucks. In 1983 BIGFOOT® (named after he was told the reason he kept on breaking parts was because of his “big foot”) began its sponsorship deal with Ford Motor Company, which still stands today. Many more BIGFOOT® monster trucks have been built since then, BIGFOOT® #17 has been built for use in the UK and Europe.

Inspired by the success of BIGFOOT®, an explosion of imitations came forth in the mid 1980’s. In America car crushing became a staple of major truck pulling and mud racing events. After many years of just car crushing, the audience in 1987 were given a more exciting show, with monster truck racing. It is a full blown sport in America today, with multiple points series taking place across the country, and millions watch it weekly on television.

The creator of BIGFOOT® soon emerged at the forefront of monster truck technology. With the use of computer aided design packages he created a new breed of monster trucks designed with racing in mind. Radical new tubular chassis along with patented cantilever-based suspensions represent the state of the art race trucks design. BIGFOOT® 8 was the first BIGFOOT® to be born out of the new impressive mold. In 1992 BIGFOOT® 8 became world champion, 1992 saw Bob and his team place 1 and 2 in the series. 1994 saw the team place 1, 2 and 3, winning 11 out of 13 races. 1995 saw teams limited to two trucks, the BIGFOOT® team took first and third, and won 10 out of 15 races.

The History of BIGFOOT 17, Europe’s BIGFOOT.

Nigel Morris, the owner of L.A. Supertrux Ltd, started building his first real Monster Truck in the autumn of 2000. This project which later was given the name Wild Child was inspired by long time friend Tim Barks, who’s own project was well under way at this time. As Wild Child neared completion, Nigel had the chance to go to America as a crew member for another friend, Joe Ellis who was going to be running his race tuned Lotus Carlton in the famous Silver State Challenge road race near Las Vegas. Nigel saw this as his chance to visit the Holy Grail of Monster Trucks, BIGFOOT®. Nigel invited Tim to help with crew duties on Joe’s car so that they could both extend their stay in the USA to include a visit to Dan Patrick, at his Samson workshop, and then on to BIGFOOT®.

Whilst visiting BIGFOOT® Bob Chandler extended an invitation for the lads to return in December for the MTRA annual conference. 2000 saw Nigel & Tim make the trip to be the first Europeans EVER to attend the MTRA conference and also the Tech School. Nigel was very proud to pass the technicians exam, and become one of a very small band of people who are qualified to carry out technical, and safety checks on Monster Trucks. The membership of the MTRA voted unanimously to set up a European division, and Nigel was elected president.

During 2001 Nigel worked to fine tune Wild Child and to get used to driving a Monster Truck at speed. Wild Child also appeared in music videos and television adverts, as well as the Granada TV series Men & Motors.

During his December MTRA visit Nigel had discussions with Bob Chandler about the prospect of bringing BIGFOOT® back to the UK, and maybe touring Europe. It was during these discussions that the idea was formed to have a BIGFOOT® permanently available to the European public. Further discussions led to the plan being finalised for Nigel and L.A. Supertrux Ltd building and operating BIGFOOT® #17 “The UK BIGFOOT®”.

That process was completed in 2003 and BIGFOOT® #17 has been wowing the UK fans ever since. With regular appearances throughout the summer competing in the EMTRC (European Monster Truck Racing Championship), BIGFOOT® #17 and Nigel Morris were proud to take the title of 2003 Pro-MT European Champion.

In the 2004 EMTRC series Nigel and BIGFOOT® #17 were only prevented from taking the title by the cancellation of the final event. Good friend and fierce racing rival Ian Batey had blown the engine of his championship leading Lil Devil monster truck in a heat race with BIGFOOT® earlier in the day. Nigel only needed to finish the event, but sadly (for Nigel anyway) the beach race was scupperd by the incoming tide! With the event cancelled Nigel and BIGFOOT® #17 remained just 35 points away from a second title.

The 2005 EMTRC series was a torrid one for the BIGFOOT® team. With a brand new 572 cu in Big Block Ford the team had high hopes for the championship. If it wasn’t for a couple of small items, who knows what might have happened. Those small items were, gearboxes we blew up 6 of them and front wheels, and we knocked 3 of these off as well. Oh and then there was this Rob Williams bloke who ran away with the championship in his rookie year. For the whole BIGFOOT® team joint third in the EMTRC table was just not good enough.

2006 saw a return to winning ways. The BIGFOOT® team had made some changes in the winter months, adding a new drag race inspired gearbox as well as custom steel steering swivels. These changes seem to have fixed the reliability issues of the 2005 season and the EMTRC title was regained in domineering fashion. Six event wins and two second places from ten events!!

2007 whitnessed the continuation of our dominance in the EMTRC racing series with more event and race wins than any other team, bringing to the BIGFOOT® #17 racing team the EMTRC title once again. This title makes us the first team ever to retain our title year on year, and the first team ever to win 3 EMTRC titles. I think we’re really back this time!!

Are Affordable New Pickup Trucks A Thing Of The Past?

Are Affordable New Pickup Trucks A Thing Of The Past?

[ad_1]

In the mid 80’s my Dad bought his very first brand new truck, a 1985 Chevrolet C10, black pickup which I thought was the sharpest vehicle I had ever driven. He paid just under $7,500 for it.  It was a ½ ton truck equipped with an 8 cylinder engine, automatic transmission and 8 foot box with power steering.  I was happy with just the AM/FM radio. GPS, USB ports, CD player or anything of the sort weren’t even a thought then. Now that auto manufacturers have added decades worth of new technology and creature comforts, have the prices come to a point where they are not all that affordable?

Has the addition of all these new items jacked the price of your average pickup to a level that is creating a bigger interest in used trucks, as opposed to brand new? Leasing has always been a strong incentive to having a new pickup instead of a used one while some dealerships offer rebates and other marketing tools to lure truck lovers into that bright shiny new one with lots of bells and whistles. Advertisements on TV display gorgeous brand new pickups using their looks, power and suggestion that it is the best truck on the market so that you will buy it. The price they show is usually a base price, which can be deceptive, when in reality it’s very pricey after just a couple of add-on packages.

As a consumer, one would question whether your pickup really needs the extra creature comforts that drive the price higher than it needs to be. Folks who can afford all of the newest and best options are always going to shop with their eyes before their wallets. You can’t have champagne taste with a beer income, so where does that leave the average consumer? It is best to have a plan for the things you cannot live without and reconsider packages that offer lots of new tech features you don’t need.  When did we forget how to use rear view windows and mirrors that we now need all of these sensors and navigation devices to make sure we don’t back into something? Most cell phones have GPS systems on them, so is it really needed in your truck as well?

Certain things that definitely affect the price of a new truck are custom finishes (pearls tri color, heavy metallic, etc), special trim packages, custom interior appointments, leather power seating and wrapped steering wheels, and a center console.  Most trucks are equipped standard with A/C, power windows, cruise control AM/FM, Multi CD/DVD changer/players, and Satellite Radio. Four wheel drive shift on the fly is now available for those that need it as a standard offering.  If you add available in-stock options (at most dealers now) including GPS, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi connections, overhead display, moon roof, oversize wheels, custom tires, towing options, and off-road packages, you will pay more, but not as much as special ordering something not in stock at the dealership.

If you get custom built-in tool storage, power tail gates and more, multiple additions of things you may not use often or even need will add to the price as well. As an alternative option, you can always add aftermarket parts later and keep the sale price down. That way you can personalize your pickup the way you want it, a little at a time without the payment skyrocketing.  Competition between manufacturers also plays heavy in vehicle cost, with each company attempting to out-do the other in price with model performance and MPG claims. Some buyers are equally as competitive and will be tempted to be the first one on the block to have a bigger, better, faster, harder working, and sharpest truck, but you will pay handsomely for it.

It is interesting to note that the average median household income in 1985 was $23,620, so the price for a brand new truck being $7500.00 may have seemed like a lot, considering it was roughly 32% of a man’s income. Yet the average income today is $53, 657, and the average basic no-frills truck costs $28-30,000.  If you do the math, we are spending way more than we did 3 decades ago without our incomes doubling. Of course manufacturing prices have gone up but you can see where I am going with these figures.  Don’t overbuy or spend money that isn’t necessary to get yourself a nice pickup truck, unless of course, money is no object. Few of us can claim that.

If you are willing to wait a bit instead of having the dealership overcharge for your wish list of pickup toys, browse some nice truck add-on items at www.truckworldaccessories.com and spend less in the long run. You can have the truck of your dreams and it will be more affordable, so in my book, that’s a win-win situation.

Without one you could run the risk of part of the load dispensing onto the road casing problems for both yourself and other drivers.

Choosing truck accessories can be fun, If you use your truck as part of you job would soon become bored looking at the same interior day in day out, accessorizing the truck will give it a personal feel and say a little about your personality.

Make Money With Your Classic Car, Old Truck or Hot Rod

[ad_1]

Classic Trucks in the movies and starring in TV Commercials!

Owners of old trucks would never deny permission for somebody to take a picture of their vehicle. Do you want to take a picture of my truck? Go ahead. Next time don’t even ask!

Let’s suppose somebody came up to you and asked for permission to take a picture of your classic truck to publish in a magazine or a website. Would you refuse? Of course not. You’re proud of your truck and you want the whole world to see it.

But there are people who don’t want to have their classic trucks photographed or filmed. They spend a lot of time fixing their trucks, they go to car shows to show off what they have and yet they refuse to have their trucks filmed or photographed. It doesn’t make sense and it’s not very smart either. Maybe they don’t need the money…

Now let’s suppose you had a chance of having your truck filmed for a TV commercial or, better yet, for a movie! How great would that be? Let’s also suppose that some TV producer decided to create a new series based on the 1940’s, 1950’s or 1960’s. Wouldn’t he(she) need a lot of cars from those eras? And if the series became a hit the vehicles would be used again and again.

Yeah. It it possible and it’s not even too hard. You just have to promote your vehicle in the right places. There are companies out there looking for vehicles exactly like yours. Many companies in fact. They look for classic trucks for sale and they buy them. They look for classic cars of all types and they pay rent to the car owners in order to film the cars. There are companies that go after owners of classic cars, old trucks and hot rods in order to list these vehicles in large databases. Advertising agencies put ads in the papers when they need an old car or pickup truck for a TV commercial. Keep your eyes open because your big chance may come from that direction.

If you have a good set of pictures of your little jewel you’re one step closer to fame and fortune. Well, may be not fortune but fame is possible…

A movie production company may need classic trucks just like yours. They might need your truck to spend, say, three days in Hollywood and a week on location in New York. They would make the arrangements to have the vehicle transported to both places and might even be willing to pay for your expenses to go along. You would see how a movie is made and you could even end up meeting a couple of famous movie stars just because you own an antique truck.

The producer of a movie or a TV commercial may be looking for a beautifully restored old car, one that looks like it came out of the showroom a couple of days ago. But directors want their films to look real. Therefore they may need a regular classic vehicle, one that shows it’s been used. And they might even need a real wreck, a rust bucket so to speak. Your chances are real, no matter what condition your truck is in. Don’t be ashamed of it. Go ahead and try.

And how does this thing work? First you have to find an agent, a company that has the contacts and knows where to go with your truck pictures. Get listed on their databases and be patient. You might get a call the following morning but it could also take a couple of years.

Here are a few suggestions of sites you can visit to learn more about this:

MovieVehicles.com

OldCarLocator.com

Cornwell & Sheridan Motor Cars

TVParty.com

Classic-Chassis.com

If you’re really committed to the idea of having your vehicle on a movie or a TV commercial you may do what actors do. Have a professional photographer take a series of shots of the vehicle and send them to advertising agencies or talent agencies. Or have a nice video produced, send it to talent agencies and upload it to YouTube, Google Video, Yahoo Video and so on. Even wedding planners may be interested in your old truck or classic car. Promote it well and one day you’ll get your big break.

And here’s another very important thing to keep in mind: don’t hide your prized possession in your garage. Take it to shows, go to swap meets and take your chances at show prizes. You may win a simple trophy and you may also get some prize money. But you’ll have to make sure your truck is in show condition before you do that. Nobody will allow you enter your classic car or old truck in a car show if the car or truck is not worth showing. Movies and TV commercials might look for regular old trucks or classic cars, but car shows don’t. Car shows want the cream of the crop, so to speak.

All of this is true all over the world. Movies are made everywhere these days and so are TV commercials. Classic car and old truck shows are common in almost every country and you can take advantage of that to make money with your truck or classic car.

Money? With old trucks and classic cars? Yep. It’s possible mainly because nobody is making trucks like yours anymore.

[ad_1]

Towing business is seeing good times these days. Buying used tow trucks is a good idea as they will be cheaper and this way you don´t need to invest a lot on them. Since the number of vehicles on the road is increasing day by day, the towing business will see nothing but positive growth.

Before you buy used tow trucks, you should know what different types exist and where each one is useful. The tow trucks fall under three categories. The first one is the oldest and not used much these days. It is called hook and chain. Axel tow trucks use hydraulic hoist to lift the front end and are widely used. Flatbed tow trucks have a back that can be lowered. Vehicles are usually loaded onto the back and moved. Boom tow trucks are generally used to pull the vehicles out of ditches.

When you are buying a used tow truck, get a mechanic to check it and tell you if it is worth buying. He can also check for its mechanical problems as well as safety problems. Buy one that will turn out useful in the city you own the business in. You may want to see the towing capacity before you buy. Additional accessories added to the tow trucks can also be helpful. If these accessories are available on the used truck, it will save you a lot.

So buying used trucks of any of these companies shouldn´t give you any problem. You can also choose of different models and the year of production depending on your budget. A tow truck can always be rented out when you don´t have any personal use for it so it is never a waste. A complete service after the purchase will make sure the tow truck will work well and increase it life too. Internet is a good place to start looking as most people will advertise their used tow truck on various sites.

Metal Detectors For Sale – Will You Be Ripped Off?

[ad_1]

Today there exists many different models of metal detectors for sale. Since metal detectors all appear basically the same, they should all perform in a similar way, right? Wrong!

Every model will be produced with a specialized usage in mind.  But how are you supposed to choose the right detector?  The range of options is particularly puzzling if you are not experienced!

To make sure you avoid squandering your hard-earned money on a metal detector that fails to work as you expected you need to ask yourself the following 3 simple factors:

What are you hunting after?
Each metal detector will operate better at specific tasks than others.  For instance, although you may use a gold metal detector to also seek for coins (and vice versa), you will have far more results by using a detector that has been especially manufactured for that use.  The first step is to ask yourself what is the main purpose or target.

  • Is your planned goal detecting coins and jewelry?  You should buy a model that comes with discrimination.
  • Do you want to be hunting after historical artifacts or war relics?  You need to get a metal detector with excellent depth and larger searchcoils.
  • Have you got gold fever, and desire a detector to find gold nuggets? A metal detector that has ground balancing is important.

What is the ground like?

Individual metal detectors respond differently according to the type of ground.  Will you detect in demanding environments like saltwater beaches or heavily mineralized ground?  Such conditions often cause some detectors to go nuts and beep uncontrollably.  So be sure to get one designed for that ground condition.

Will you be detecting shipwrecks? Many metal detectors have waterproof coils (the disc that points at the ground) but their housings and electronics aren’t waterproof unless specifically stated.  So if you want to be detecting undersea treasure you want to go for a specially-designed detector.

What is your budget?
After you have decided your main usage and locations you can shortlist the metal detectors for sale that meet those requirements.  Then, just go through the shortlist to find the detector that suits your budget.  Once more, this should be the last step because until you realize your goals it is impossible to select the best metal detector.

So you can now avoid wasting your cash by selecting the right metal detector for the task.  When considering metal detectors for sale you simply want to think about what your goal is, the environment you want to detect on, and the price of the detector.
