[ad_1]

Small improvements were made on the Terios in 2000. The more expensive models were fitted with electric windows at the front and a central locking system on all doors. Alloy wheels, roof rails, roof mounted spoilers and rear seat head restraints are also added. More powerful DOHC engines replaced the older SOHC power plants. Finally, the old black plastic grille was replaced with a better looking and more durable chrome.  A turbo charged sport version of the K3-VET engine was also introduced in Japan.

Australia also witnessed the release of a 200 unit limited edition in 2001. The mini SUV replaced the old two tone bumper with ones that matched the body color of the vehicle. Rear spoiler and sunroof were introduced along with a metallic finished interior.

The First generation Terios utilized the HC-EJ SOHC 1295cc engine on its initial 4WD model J100G which went into production from 1997 to 1999. The engine has the power of 89PS.

The J102G variant that was produced from 2000 to 2004 is also a four wheel drive vehicle.  This SUV offered two engine options; the K3-VE DOHC and the K3-VET DOHC. Both engines have 1297cc engine displacement with the K3-VE producing 92 PS of power and the K3-VET turbocharged engine producing 140 PS of power. Lastly, the J122G 2WD also offered the choice of both the K3-VE and K3-VET engines.

The Terios Kid, a kei car still available in the Japanese market, made use of either the EF-DEM light pressure turbo or the EF-DET inter-cooler turbo engines.

Internationally the first generation Terios is also known as the Toyota Cami. China produced two variants of the vehicle; Zoyte Nomada is driven by a 1.6 liter Mitsubishi engine is illegal copy which created some storm and the FAW Huali Terios. The car is produced in Malaysia as the Perodua Kembara.

The second generation Terios produced starting 2006 are also known by different names internationally. It is identified as Daihatsu Terios Eco and Daihatsu Yeni Terrios in Turkey, Terios in Israel Daihatsu Terios Wild in Chile, and Toyota Rush and Daihatsu Bengo in Japan and China.

Toyota Rush is a second generation vehicle known as Daihatsu D Concept 4×4 when it made its debut at the Tokyo Motor show. It went into production the following year and was renamed Daihatsu Terios.

Except for the Japanese Domestic Market where the SUV is called the Toyota Rush and Daihatsu Be’go, the model is still marketed internationally under the Terios name.

The Toyota Rush and the Daihatsu Be’go both use 1.3 and 1.5 liter engines, but only the 1.5 liter variant is available in both the 2WD and 4WD options

Toyota and Daihatsu in Indonesia and Malaysia introduced the second generation Rush and Terios with longer wheelbases in 2006 for the former and in 2008 for the later.  The Malaysian Rush has two trim levels the 1.5G and 1.5S. The 1.5G variant has multi reflector Headlamps Body colored side mirrors, bulb type 3rd brake lamp and comes without a spoiler. The 1.5S model on the other hand has projector headlamps, chrome mirrors, LED type 3rd brake lamp and spoiler.

This family of mini SUVs has a long history and lineage of proven performance and reliability. The Toyota Cami is a pioneering member of that exceptional family that has proven its worth. Ride into one. An exciting adventure awaits.

Motorhome vehicle Auckland

[ad_1]

New Zealand features natural attractions and road conditions ideal for a motorhome holiday for all types of people. However this is entirely different from backpacking, train traveling and air travel. As this is traveling with mobile home. This is where choosing a motorhome to rent comes into the picture. Remember that a motorhome is a bigger guy than a 4WD. It’s not a typical automobile that you drive to work.

Be cautious on how you choose a vehicle to rent. There are several motorhome and 4WD rental companies scattered throughout New Zealand. You might have had the chance to rent a 4WD in some countries or in one of your vacations in the past.

Hiring a motorhome for your holidays is cost effective for road tripping or exploring the grounds of New Zealand. A four seater 4 wheel drive vehicle can cost around 75-85 dollars per day for booking it a month advance in Auckland. A four seater motorhome vehicle in the same location starts its cost at $84 per day and so on depending on the features and the amenities that it can deliver. However your 4 wheel drive can quickly get you out of raft rough grounds. Whereas you have to take it a bit slow when you are driving a motorhome or a campervan. It is because you are not just driving a vehicle, but a mobile home where you have kitchen utensils and other convenience along with it.

Hiring the cheapest motorhome vehicle gives you the ability to cross cities and access destinations after destinations. Along with it are the convenience of a kitchen and a basic lodging, and more that cannot be provided by a 4WD.  Adding few dollars more gives you another make or model. Most locations in New Zealand permits you to park on the roadside. No other perfect location is along the beaches or the lakes of  New Zealand.

Snow Plow Preparation List , YES Before The Storm

[ad_1]

Everybody may have a different way to check their snowplow Equipment before
the storm but this works for me. The first thing I do is what is called a
Pre-trip inspection just like you would on a tractor trailer.

Lift the hood on your plow truck , check the engine oil, power steering fluids, windshield washer fluids , and battery connections are tight, check the belts be sure they are not cracked, check the coolant level, (with the truck cold), check the brake fluid and If low it either means your pads need to be changed, or there is a leak. The fluid went some where! Look around in the motor compartment for any loose wires, be sure they are not touching or rubbing through anywhere. OK, now close the hood and proceed to the rest of the inspection.

Get in your snowplow truck check and see that the horn works, the wiper works the heat works, put the truck in 4wd and drive forward a few feet you should feel the difference of resistance when you turn the wheel and drive forward . Then disengage the 4wd and put the transmission back into park. Check that the parking brake is working and releases, check that the brakes are working.

Now check the lights, put on the low beam headlights, parking lights, start at the drivers door out side of your vehicle and walk counter clockwise around your plow truck check the tire lugs, tire pressures, grab the mirrors make sure they are not loose check that the lights are working. Now go back and check high beams and left, right signal lights and brake lights. When you are done with this now we can go on to checking the plow out.

We can now begin to check out the plow. You want to make sure everything is working before you go to work. You want to make sure everything is working fine and not faulty when you need to start snowplowing.
Time is money and we do not want you to have any break downs if we can help it.

Start the vehicle and raise and lower the plow a few times
Check the controls are not loose and cycle the plow with the controls
When you are doing this watch the amp gauge for not over excessive amp draw down in the system.
Raise the plow up and leave it up for a few minutes to make sure it does not drift down
Check the snowplow high beams and low beams are working and adjusted right.
Check the turn signal lights are working and not loose
With the plow down get out and inspect the chain is not worn
Check around all hydraulic cylinders for leaks or dents in the cylinders
Check the snowplow hoses and hose connections
Check the center pivot of the plow for play
Check the plow frame bolts are tight and not loose
Check for any cracks on the welds of the plow
Inspect the snowplow cutting edge, shoes and springs
Look at the snow plow pins and the plow retainer rings

OK now that you inspected your snowplow. Let’s go over a few things you should have
in the truck with you, flashlight, gloves, extra plow pins, extra hose and quick connectors, hydraulic fluid,
Box of fuses, a relay for you plow, Electrical tape, 2 cans of fix a flat, and road flairs.

I have used this list for over 20 years and it has saved me many times. I hope it saves you Happy plowing From Edgeolite.com

Lake Eyre – Outback Australia

[ad_1]

A nature-lover’s ideal travel destination might not be a salt lake (dry lake) in the middle of an Australian desert. So why are so many people flocking to Lake Eye at the moment? It’s because it is currently teeming with water, plant and wildlife where usually there is only a lifeless area that is 15m below sea level (the lowest point of continental Australia.

When there is significant rainfall further north in Queensland the river systems of Cooper Creek, Diamantina and Georgina flow through to transform Lake Eyre – this happens on average only once every 10-12 years. When Lake Eyre is in flood it becomes a breeding ground for water birds especially pelicans. There are many theories but none that definitely explain the migration of birds to the area during these times. Apart from birds the floods see frogs, microscopic crustaceans and a wealth of plants and algae spring up where previously there was only salt, sand and dust.

Lake Eyre South – Oodnadatta; Lake Eyre North – Level Post Bay; and Lake Eyre North – Halligan Bay are the 3 public access points if you have a 4wd. Lake Eyre in flood is best viewed by air where you can really appreciate its sheer scale and beauty. Flights are offered from nearby towns including William Creek, Marree and Wilpena Pound (Flinders Ranges). Whist you are catching your flight, check out the unique outback experiences on offer at these towns, whether you are looking for a pub lunch, a chat with the locals or a longer stay.

With the Oodnadatta, Birdsville and slightly further afield Strzelecki tracks, it is easy to continue exploring the outback regions from Lake Eyre. The Oodnadatta track is a 620km unsealed track that runs between Marree and Marla in outback South Australia; the Birdsville track runs the 517km from Marree (South Australia) to Birdsville (Queensland); and the Strzelecki track takes you out along the Cooper Creek to Innamincka near the borders of South Australia, Queensland and New South Wales. Lake Eyre in flood is a truly spectacular Australian outback experience no matter which way you choose to travel.
